I guess I never uploaded this!
Anyway... I got commissioned to paint a tree this spring, and it was a pretty open-ended request. She only stressed that there be no leaves on this tree...so, I just went to a less surreal place in my mind and started to paint. I don't really know how long this took me, but it was finished over the course of two days; acrylics on a small (less than 12") canvas. Best photo I have of it, unfortunately!

I'm sure you could!
I use acrylics a little like watercolor.:') If you just kind of push the colors around with water (like on the tree bark), it usually is an easier way to keep the tones right and make smaller details by overlapping. Doesn't always work, though, especially if you accidentally have white mixed in.:P
Danke!

Browsing the web, I saw this picture today [link] (on Dave Morrow Photography blog), it made me think of your painting...
And I said to myself "Uff, that tree is still alive!", hehe
I know that picture and your painting are different but they have some similarities :)
