Literature Text

Same was today -- and be
it the father bullfrog who sheds the confines of security,
so the flocks might easily be fed…
a lure of salt and brazed pepper,
a lure of wandering bulls who somehow
manage desperation
at an age when only neediness can resault in
desperation…
whose only consequence is punishment.
And all his meddled frustration,
conducts me to a vision, as though
I were vulnerable.

And sheepish am I
in the eyes of the unknowing...
What a story they should tell.
Ere sweetest of the bunch were none but the youth,
whose eyes met those of thee, again,
exhausted and judged and
all, be it.
This was, indeed, a vision in and of itself
And pity the exhaustible discomfort of self-respect,
for little is awry.

And so,
the boy with tape worms
...impending procession...
a gut embellished with urban diversion,
spoke eagerly of the earthenware;
of the nonromantic dwelling of ancient ornaments and a broken chair.
What do I do?
I sit.
And there is both humor and truth in that.

As notice should, at best,
be left in good promise,
and banked.
preserved.
So that, should one be their own undoing,
there is joy to reflect upon.
I write only the fictions of potential...
The reality of my dreaming.
This is a piece I'm having published in an anthology soon!  I figured I'd share since it's taking me awhile to get my visual arts photographed.  I've been thinking and writing like this for as long as I can remember .... typically I overlay my poetry on top of images in old sketchbooks and it sort of seals it off for me.

I've written a few thousand poems that may never see the light of day; this one in particular is a reflection on a day I experienced back in August, 2012... sometimes I just volunteer or go to art events by myself, incognito -- without anyone knowing I'm an artist or anything like that.  I find the best characters in this way~

Ahh, yes. This poem. Indeed, it will be in the Thunderbird Review. :) I'm so happy you submitted your poetry to the anthology, you really are an amazing poet!
