Barrington Nasahl Knows All by Mivala Barrington Nasahl Knows All by Mivala
Titling it "Barrington Nasahl Knows"....for now.:U I'm so clever.
So....this admittedly took me longer than usual (3 hours not including just THINKING...these pieces really require more effort). As many of ya'll know, I love sharks. Artists never depict them enough, so....here's a shark I've dubbed Barrington Nasahl (a play on words AND the Jamaican singer whose songs are lurvlyyy). If you look, there's some geometric portraiture going on in there.

Black ballpoint pen on my usual, 11"x14" paper. Really just an experiment with horizon lines and dimension....I don't really know if this many horizon lines is an aesthetically legal trick or not, lol No references used, I just sat down and drew last night and then finished early this morning. Enjoyyyyyyyyyyy Comments welcome....encouraged...always encouraged.....yup.C:

This has to be my personal favorite of the surreal pieces I've done. There were so many great mistakes I was just surprised anything even showed up in the end.:')

I think as artists, we're always either pleasantly surprised or severely disappointed in what we create.:P lol At least that's how I feel!

For these drawings I'm a fan of ballpoint pens. Trying to migrate into microns (archival ink is a must! I think...haha)
With paint...on a large scale I like oils, on a small scale I like acrylics, and on a tiny scale I like watercolors. I like gouache also!:')
I love slab work in clay (porcelain is beautiful).
I love acid when it comes to glass.
I have only done one piece of spraypaint art and I even loved that.:'D
I use everythingggggg I can get my hands on.

Well I think that is the fun part. Watching the piece come together not knowing how the final piece will look.

It actually looks better here than in person....it's too big in real life so, unless you see it kind of far away, I don't think it has the same effect. I don't really notice the whole of the image, anyway ... it really worried me as I was drawing (that the end result would reveal no final image or idea, it would just be lines).
I'm soooooooooo in love with how this turned out, though. It just feels new for me.:eager:

I thiiiiiiiiiiiink my sketchbook is 11"x14" but I'm not positive. I'm breaking that old high school habit of drawing masterpieces on notebook paper; not entirely used to it but getting there.:P

the shittier the surface and less I try, the better it comes out >.> i feel yer dilemma haha. I use 11x14 a lot. squares seem to give some interesting feedback compared to other canvas sizes. keep drawing on flimsy crap haha

I technically failed 3 college math courses, but every year they let me slide. Pretty sure they dug my drawings.
My science teacher was ruthless, though. No matter how many times I turned in assignments with primates and little Einsteins...remotely scientific images..., I still barely got out of there alive.
